You have been misinformed. It is simply false to think that Christians were trying to rid the world of Jews. For many centuries, the Jewish communities of Central and Eastern Europe were large, prosperous, and vibrant -- which contradicts any effort to portray them as systematically oppressed or endangered by their Christian neighbors.

Critically, during WW II, Pope Pius XII and the Catholic Church saved some 860,000 Jews from the Nazis -- more than all other international agencies put together. Catholic church buildings in Rome -- including the Papal residence outside the city -- were jammed full with Jews in hiding. After the war, the Chief Rabbi of Israel thanked Pius XII for what he had done, while the Chief Rabbi of Rome became a Catholic and adopted the name Eugenio, Pope Pius's given name at birth.

Through Israel's Yad Vashem, many thousands of Christians are formally recognized as Righteous Among the Nations for saving Jews from the Nazis. Polish diplomat and patriot Jan Karski -- who was married to a Jew -- was smuggled into Aushwitz and then sent by the Polish Home Army to the US to provide the first irrefutable direct account of the Holocaust to the American public.

Are saying that those Jewish history books we studied in religious school were fraudulent? That Catholics and protestants were not at war with each other in Europe? That the crusaders didn’t murder Jews on the way to OUR Holy Land? That Jews were not expelled from England, France and Spain?
