Identical twins from Minnesota are accused of swapping places after one of them, allegedly driving high on a rural highway, rear-ended an Amish horse-drawn carriage and killed two children.
Police spent months building the case before announcing charges.
But, according to one expert, the damning evidence might not be as strong as it appears.
Prosecutors now allege Samantha Jo Petersen was behind the wheel Sept. 25, 2023, when a motor vehicle slammed into a horse-drawn carriage, killing two children and injuring their two siblings.
It was not her identical twin sister, Sarah Beth Petersen, who took responsibility at the scene, who was driving, the prosecutors say.

'Detectives concluded the driver had a clear view for 1,452 feet before the crash, and there were no obstructions, according to court documents.'
The buckboard had nothing to do with it. A stalled car or a kid on a bike would have met the same fate. Nice try tho......
I think the other looked even worse
America on dope.
What could possibly go wrong?
In MN you don't go to prison for a vehicle accident which kills two people and injures two others, drugs or no drugs? I do believe that is manslaughter at the very least.
What’s her stripper name?
I don’t think there was much to gain but I suppose being high could bring additional charges (?)
Put them both in jail just to be sure

Marijuana has always been a safe drug.
“America on dope.
What could possibly go wrong?”
Dope could be legalized—y’know for government funding of something or other.
Must be for them as THEY were unharmed.
Like the drunk driver who kills someone and walks away unscathed because they were so relaxed.
MJ, another victimless crime, no doubt.
Identical twins...identical DNA. It’s easy to see how they would both get away with it...at least on appeal.
