Vancouver BC?
Vancouver WA?
My wife and I went to Vancouver about 15 years ago, and when we walked through a park, it was a jolt to us to see the junkies passed out, others shooting up, and needles all over the ground.
Shame.
I shan’t visit.
That’s where most of the “yacht people” ended up.
Vancouver has been spinning out of control for awhile now. Taken over by Chinese, crime, drugs and filth. I knew it was Canada without having to look, sadly.
I grew up in Vancouver, and my parents lived there until 2005, when they moved to Victoria.
By the late 1990’s there was a parade of drug dealers driving high end vehicles, every night driving into Kits Point (Planetarium parking lot) to do drug deals.
This was an area where a small house cost several million dollars even then, but it was close to down town.
This drug dealer parade was before any of the “Safe” injection sites opened.
The homeless camp in Vanier Park, site of the Planetarium, started after 2005.
Around 1990, the Chinese invasion started and the West Side started to fill up. Before that, West of Burrard St. was so great.
The West side is not as bad as the worst of San Francisco, but they are working on it.
I’m glad I visited Vancouver ca. 1973. It was nice.
So, my question is, where is “nice” now?

Taking a cruise that leaves from Vancouver in June. I had thought it would be nice to wander around the downtown during our layover. After reading this, maybe not.

Thanks to all posters who have experience with the area.
I have news for her. Most of the cities of North America founded before WW2 were founded by serious Christians.
“The CCP funds the social activist organizations who have shifted the criminal justice system, effectively destroying it. The city’s streets are littered with the dying, half dressed, smeared with shit, needles still in their arms. This is allowed because our leadership wants to destroy the middle class. Do you know what losing a teenager to hard drugs does to a family? It destroys that family forever.”
He looks nice.
