On the other hand their ballads like “Waiting For A Girl Like”
Pretty much launched Thomas Dolby’s career.

You know your stuff!
Yes, a still unknown Thomas Dolby was on the synthesizer for that one as well as "Urgent". He also wrote "New Toy", an early 80s new wave hit for Lene Lovich.

I’ve said the best music is from the 60’s and 70’s and notice most of the inductees are from the 60’s and 70’s...coincidence?

Was not rock and roll “anti-establishment” and “against the man” “rebellion” music, at least during its heyday?
If so, nothing screams establishment like a HOF does it not?
To: funwithfood
I always thought the exact same thing.

And around the same time he wrote
New Toy for Lene Lovich.
He came to my company to talk.He said his first synthesizers included stuff that was thrown out by institutes.

And still no MOTORHEAD in the “rock n roll” hall of fame.

I prefer the artists that didn’t make it into the HOF listed in this article, than the ones who did . . .

This year’s inductees are Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott,
George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine and The Spinners,
along with DJ Kool Herc and Link Wray for musical influence;
Chaka Khan, Al Kooper and Taupin for musical excellence;
and Don Cornelius for the Ahmet Ertegun Award (formerly known as the non-performers award).

Well, she’s closer than some of the other’s who are in or nominated. They might as well call it the All Types of Modern Popular Music Hall of Fame.
To: Fledermaus
Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and Solomon Burke are all in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I don’t think any of their genre’s is rock and roll.
To: Fledermaus
Kate Bush? Rock?The guitar solo in Wuthering Heights was recorded on a Gibson Les Paul plugged in to a Marshall Superlead Plexi.
You don’t get more rock than that.
