54-54, players moved off the court and game delayed. Gym evacuated and alarms going off.
IU by 4.
LOL that alarm and gym evacuation came right in the middle of the biggest run Wisc had in the game.
can’t help but wonder if an IU student didn’t pull an alarm to ruin their run.
Sheer speculation, I know.
Heck, it was 90 DEGREES in Van Buren, MO, this afternoon. They’ll be down to ~35 deg. tomorrow morning.
Perryville, MO (not far across the river from Southern IL) got whacked with a F4 tornado in Feb., a few years ago. NWS is saying conditions are quite similar.
“Is Jamaal Bowman in attendance?”
LOL...SNORT!!
He signed a folding metal chair for the silent auction for a sports-themed annual fundraiser for a charity we’re associated with. This about 20 years ago? We had a guy on the board who was really good at acquisitions for the auction. Anyway, my hats off to BK for doing it, and having the ability to own up to his past (mis)behavior in a funny way.
I grew up listening to them. The other guy lost his job over some woke politically correct business.
Fans evacuated from Indiana’s win over Wisconsin after fire alarm goes off at Assembly Hall
Actually happened in Boston a while back. Sprinkler pipe burst and set off the fire alarm during the pre-game. It depends on the area and AHJ if they will evac if they can determine within X time it wasn’t a fire.
When I read that Bob Knight had died, I threw a chair across the room in his memory.
Very strange, while the game was suspended, dozens of baskets were recorded for one of the teams. How is that possible?
Exactly. They have now determined the alarm was pulled in one of the upper balconies. Wisconsin was on a 9-2 run and they had to stop for almost 20 minutes then even warm up again. It was pulled exactly when Wisc caught IU and tied it.
I’d say it was a IU fan that pulled it. Worst sportsmanship almost imagineable, IU should have to forfeit the win and have a rematch.
“ I thought it was a great timeout for whoever from Indiana pulled the fire alarm, for them. Cause we were making a run,” Gard said. “I mean, we had a little time in the locker room, not as much as what they originally had told us. And then you get five minutes to go warm back up and go play. So was kind of like having two halftimes.”
