Being a seniored citizen, CVS texts me with reminders to get the shingles vaccine. No Danke, I’ll take my chances w/o the needled poison.

I got mine in the fall. The currently approved shingles vaccines are basically variations of traditional attenuated virus vaccine, although several M-RNA candidates are in trial. I'd recommend getting the traditional type while you still can. The only side effects from the first jab (all I've had) was arm pain.

This was not a conclusive study, but worth thinking about:

"A non-peer-reviewed study published on May 25, 2023, reported shingles vaccinations were associated with a 19.9% lower risk of dementia."
