While I’m sure Gibson would have been good as Schindler, I thought Liam Neeson was just about perfect. He’s actually Irish, and while that’s not German, he still brought that European authenticity to the role. I’m not sure Gibson could have done that, although he certainly did a great job with Braveheart. But that’s a different persona than a German businessman.

But let’s not forget - the real hero of the movie was the accountant, played wonderfully by Ben Kingsley. He was the one who concocted the schemes, and cooked the books to hide everything from the Nazis.

Just a great, great film.

The intersection of Liam and Ralph - unforgettable. That movie is peak Fiennes, I don't know how he did it.
