Asking for someone’s DD-214 is inexcusable. Just because you once of heard of that document doesn’t mean it is for public consumption. Maybe you should go serve and find that out for yourself instead of trolling your liberal crap on the Internet.

You can request a publicly releasable copy of an individual’s military record by sending a Standard Form 180, Request Pertaining to Military Records, to the National Personnel Records Center.

I know a guy who used this to go after a large number of “Stolen Valor” freaks, liars and con artists.

He exposed some who told grand tales even though they never finished basic training as well as many who never even served. The saddest were the ones who served honorably but decided they had to make up crazy-ass stories.
