I’m 68 years old. I grew up in SE Los Angeles.
After military service, in my adulthood I’ve lived in Chino CA, WA state east of Seattle, and rural Hawaii. I have never seen a black person on a construction crew anywhere, in all my travels. I’v seen about every other race, but never a Black person. Majority were white, Hispanic, Filipino, and a smattering of others.
In my youth I saw Blacks destroy buildings, Watts riots. I lived across the river from Compton so I’ve been around lots of Black people.
Admittedly, I prefer living and working with Hispanics, even if they were illegals. Chino as in Paramount , you’d better be able the speak some Spanish. Hispanics have a good work ethic and are very family oriented.
My family owned two construction companies. Your scenario never existed.
