HE FEARED FOR HIS OWN SAFETY so AFTER the grill was stolen the homeowner LEFT his home and chased down the suspect in his own vehicle.
This is murder.
NO! Not murder, it is called hot pursuit and is allowed under Texas law to retrieve your property. When the driver pulled a gun, the owner’s only alternative was to shoot and defend himself. Just because it may be against the law where you might live, doesn’t mean it is not legal in other states. Texas law is very clear on this.
