You are wrong about Texas law. It has been discussed here many times and each time someone has to explain it. In Texas you cam immediately pursue a thief in the act, called hot pursuit, and if deadly force is the only alternative to safely retrieve your property then deadly force can be used. OTOH, you can not, say a day later, happen to see someone with your property and then pursue them to retrieve your property using deadly force.
