I’m in the same camp as you here. As the old saying goes, a lawyer is attached to every bullet. If there is no doubt as to your claim of self-defense, you’ll probably be okay.
But if there is doubt - or if the DA happens to be a liberal - then be prepared to shell out the big bucks. And good luck to you. Sad, but that’s reality.
Its hard to claim self defense, when your actions created the confrontation... this shooter went out of his way to create the confrontation, he chased the perps down and forced the confrontation. I really don’t see how a “stand your ground” type argument (I felt threatened/thought he had a gun) is going to fly in this case, even in Texas.
