People living in an abusive relationship learn not to “trigger” the abuse. The media are in an abusive relationship with some readers. No author wants to have fifteen protestors outside his home and following his children to and from the school bus shouting abuse. And, since the authorities allow this sort of thing, I, as an author would avoid triggering it.
Very true- the consequences for speaking truth th3se days is severe. The world is demanding that lies be the truth, and truth be deemed hate speech and punished to no end.
