with maybe a handful of dazed prisoners at the end

Why?

They'll end up being nothing but trouble ...

“I hereby cast doubt on the loyalty to America of ANYONE who actively holds and exercises ‘dual citizenship” with these Unted Stats and ANY foreign country.”

You’re reframing her comments to deflect from her clear intent.

I don’t share your concern about dual citizenship, but I understand it. But that has zero to do with the topic at hand:

SHE SAID NOTHING ABOUT DUAL CITIZENSHIP. You have introduced an irrelevant talking point.

And it has not been unusual for the greatest anti-Semites in history to state that they know SOME Jews who aren’t so bad.

So, voicing any criticism of any Jew is anti-Semitism? If you're not saying this, please explain what you mean?

A delegation of the “Christian Right” supporters of Israel made a pilgrimage to the Gulf Arab leaders not too many years ago...

Most of the handful captured at Tarawa were standing there wounded or shell shocked dazed in a loincloth. I’m thinking you let 15-20 live to spread the word. And I’m kinda a humanitarian type.

Any country that increases its Muslim population will find an increase in antisemitism (anti-Jews).

I prefer to say anti-Jewish than antisemitic as it seems clearer and more correct. Speaking plainly may not impress, but it avoids confusion. Here’s a quote I found:

“Arabic is by far the most widely spoken of the Semitic languages, with around 300 million native speakers spread across the vast majority of North Africa and throughout the Arabian Peninsula.”

Semites are those who speak a semitic language. Arabs are Semites. Someone who is anti-Arab could be labelled as antisemitic.

First off, my comment on dual citizenship was a response to this, YOUR comment: "were not the last to cast doubt on Jewish loyalty to America.".

Second, you're the one making a big deal out of incomplete cherry-picked quotes. You're not being very honest, here. Your comment #18 is sleazy, dishonest, and unworthy of this forum. Shame on you.

OK. Fair point ... and our relations with the Japanese have generally turned out fairly well since then.

--- "One of the most strident hawks in the Knesset is Avigdor Liberman, who leads a secular nationalist party."

Yisrael Beitenu is "secularist" in the same way that Free Republic is "secularist," for, to date, I have read threads from Jews, TLM Catholics, Seventh Day Adventists, various Protestants (one of whom refuses to declare in a coming schism on which side of that schism she will reside), and some others.

In fact, we may well say and agree that this nation is "secularist" in that it makes a place for more than one "state" religion.

As to the Neturei Karta, they are of small number and as much an outlier as very fringe Christian groups. I debated on when I was in Israel, and he was all too willing to call many other Jews "non-Jews" in his sense of things. (I worked in Israel twice, by the way, and have some wonderful tales to tell some other time.)

It would be difficult to say as an example the Republican Party is not "secularist," as an example of how terminology can clutter discussions.

I am also aware from the 'kibbutznik' movement forward, that early Israelis hoped that socialism would provide some sort of basis for government, in the same way that the Ba'ath Parties in Iraq and Syria early on were "socialist," though they tried very hard to mix Islam with socialism, a total failure.

Of the many opinions we all may hold about Israel, I hold a pragmatic one. Israel must survive. But I was fully irritated during the Covid "event" that the Israeli government through Ramzor then went so in on pushing jabs and certificates and such.

The nation is finding its way in a troubling time in a troubling area of the world. They need to be rid Hamas from being any kind of significant "neighbor" to be sure.

My point of the first comment was not "irrelevant to the subject." It is the subject, for the question is one of taxonomy. I resist throwing around terms, as if slogans, in an inexact manner. "Zion" is one such term, filled to overflowing with meanings depending on use. Eretz Yisrael is more proper, as "Jew hatred," a term I much prefer to antisemitism, travels with many who throw about "Zion" as if it was a limited term. No one would say "Eretz Zion" and mean the same. Caution in terminology, for us all including Candace Owens, would be wise. And such won't be heeded.

“So, voicing any criticism of any Jew is anti-Semitism? If you’re not saying this, please explain what you mean?”

I didn’t think I was unclear. Let me try again.

“I hate Seinfeld.” Cool.

“I hate Jewish comedians.” Not cool

“George Soros is a disgrace.” Cool

“Jews in business are a disgrace. But I do know a couple decent ones.” Not cool

“My brother-in-law is a dummy.” Cool

“My brother-in-law is a dumb polack.” Not cool

The only thing I found offensive was her sympathy for Palestinian kids.

Did you hear about the Palestinian boy band? New Blocks on the Kids.

Yep. For some reason they have a soft spot for Israel’s jihadist enemies.

She said she mourns the palestine children getting bombed. I think what she should have said was that the palestine children get bombs STRAPPED to them.

Liberman thought that Israel being flooded with ex-Soviets, Jews and non-Jews, would make him some kind of kingmaker. He was wrong.

Mizrachi/Sefardi Jews are still Israel’s identity. The WASPs (White Ashkenaz Socialist Protektzia) that have a stranglehold on Israel’s government and military are doomed. That’s why they riot against the results of democratic elections.

Two things can be true at the same time. I’ve had great jewish friends, bosses, co workers, doctors etc. Simultaneously, I despise the likes of Schumer, Raskin, Nadler, Goldman, Wasserman-Schultz etc.

““Anti-semitic” is rapidly becoming a worthless BS term, along with “racist”, “sexist”, and “homophobic”.”

Just another weapon to tar and feather you, shut you up and cancel you.

But I wouldn’t call it worthless, seems to yield benefits to those who use them.

And the reason that is so is because the ones the insult is thrown at, immediately scream in self defense, “No I’m not” and go slither under a rock.

Rather, embrace the insult, and go on the offensive. Denying it and being defensive only sends a message that it is working.

Exactly. Hence my remark about Leftist Jews who thrust their jewishness out in front of them like a shield, and use it at every chance to deflect criticism.

And because of places like Mediaite, and even some people in Forums like this who swallow it whole (as intended by Leftists) it is remarkably effective.

I don’t agree with Candace Owens on everything. But I don’t agree with Thomas Sowell or Jordan Peterson on everything either.

But this? It is asinine to hold it up as an example of antisemitism.
