Okay here you go! Read it and weep!
“Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.”
He can’t ‘be elected’, but he can serve.
The best/worst scenario here would be that big mike is the prez and names obamao as chief of staff. That way he is always there and has an official position immune from impeachment even if the pubs ever actually had the stones to try and impeach. He would be involved in everything and have a reason for always being in the room with all of the other world leaders and then would tell Chewie what to do/say.
I didn’t know you were on the Supreme Court.
Oh, crap. You’ve got a point after all. The Constitution talks about eligibility, as I noted in my post #55. But the 22A talks about being elected, not eligibility. The word “eligibility” isn’t even in the 22A.
This is certainly an oversight on the part of the folks who wrote the 22A. And the Supreme Court would certainly rule that “be elected” in the 22A means the same as being eligible.
But, wow. It is a loophole. And it does exist. So, yeah. It’s worth a conversation.
