Thanks PolishPrince yes I forgot about the half-term thing:

“The amendment prohibits anyone who has been elected president twice from being elected again. Under the amendment, someone who fills an unexpired presidential term lasting more than two years is also prohibited from being elected president more than once. Scholars debate whether the amendment prohibits affected individuals from succeeding to the presidency under any circumstances or whether it applies only to presidential election.”

But as you can see, this does not preclude Barry from becoming President in my hypothetical.

It DOES preclude it if you are talking about michelle being elected and having her husband as VP since he is INELIGIBLE.to be VP at the start of her, or anyone elses term, since if she died or resigned on day one he wouls have to take her place and he is INELIGIBLE to do so. After she, or anyone else, is more than halfway thru he, bush, carter, clinton would be eligible to be VP.
