There are two major political parties in Taiwan. The one that was originally founded by Chiang Kai-shek is ironically now the party that wishes to reunite with mainland China.

The two parties are about equally split suggesting that about half of the population of Taiwan would be okay reuniting with China.

So being from Taiwan may mean someone is not a commie, but they could be a China mainland sympathizer especially if their business depends on trade with the mainland.

Well her family has lived here since the 60’s, and she was the CEO of Foremost Group which is an American company headquartered in New York. But somehow, that makes her and her family communists.
