Good for her, especially if she’s still in good health. I hope to be like my mother’s mother, who was living alone at 99 (having decided not to remarry after her second husband died when she was 82). She was still sharp as a tack and was the oldest licensed driver in the state. Alas, she had a heart attack while shoveling snow, about six weeks before her hundredth birthday.
I saw Grandmom today for a St. Valentine’s greeting. She is blessed by God. She had her ash cross on her forehead. Today is also Ash Wednesday.
