The political mixture in Weimar Germany wasn’t that black and white - Communists vs Nazis. There were Communists divided into Stalin\USSR & Trotsky supporting factions, non-Marxist socialists, social democrat socialists, authoritarian conservatives and monarchists with some overlap between them. All fighting for political space & each other.

Exactly; however, just the simplest of historical facts, without delving into the minutiae, as you have done, drives the uneducated into fits of hysteria; sadly.
