When was the last time that YOU walked around NYC, Chicago, and San Francisco at 4:00P.M. and/or took a subway in those cities?

What about Paris or London?

Obviously you haven't been in ANY of these American cities at any time of day. Nor have you read any news article in newspapers from there either.

And no, I'm not even talking about "bad" neighborhoods; now ALL neighborhoods, in those cities and many others here, are extremely unsafe!

I've never been to Moscow, never want to go there, but I doubt that it is as dangerous as these once GREAT and very safe American cities once were. And before you decide to poo poo what I've written, unlike YOU, I have actually lived, FOR MANY YEARS, in two of the American cities I named. I live somewhere else now and would NEVER go back to either one.

Good grief. What’s with all the emotionalism on this Moscow thing? I have no idea why you guys are attempting to compare a US citizen walking around in Moscow to one of our cities, but there is no comparison and re: the subject I was addressing... it has absolutely NO correlation. My comments concern the safety of a US citizen in Moscow. There’s a hot war going on and anyone with an ounce of logic might concur that it’s just not a good idea to go there. And hell, it’s not as if there hasn’t also been plenty of government warnings to that effect.

So, now...what? The US Embassy in Moscow AND the State Department AND the Travel State Gov office are all lying by saying it’s not safe? For what purpose?

The U.S. embassy raised its Russia travel advisory to Level 4 “Do Not Travel” status “due to the unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces, the potential for harassment against U.S. citizens by Russian government security officials, the singling out of U.S. citizens in Russia by Russian government security officials including for detention, the arbitrary enforcement of local law.”

Do not travel to Russia due to the unpredictable consequences of the unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces, the potential for harassment and the singling out of U.S. citizens for detention by Russian government security officials, the arbitrary enforcement of local law, limited flights into and out of Russia, the Embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens in Russia, and the possibility of terrorism. U.S. citizens residing or travelling in Russia should depart immediately. Exercise increased caution due to the risk of wrongful detentions.

El Salvador is one of the safest places on the planet. They have imprisoned all the drug gang, tattooed monsters that terrorized the people for too long, and it has been at the cost of a pretty draconian enforcement. Some places in South Asia you can get caned for not throwing chewing gum in the trash receptacle.
-totalitarian?

I am not for a totalitarian state, but I lived in Detroit in the 1980s, and it wasn’t pretty. Law enforcement openly stated that they could NOT protect you and the safety of your family, and that was an individual responsibility...
-Anarchism?

Neither is pretty, but having a system of law enforcement based on individual rights is pretty desirable and it has to be enforced while not infringing on the rights of an American Citizen, and all that entails.

We are in a cultural war right now. The Leftists want to push us into some pretty historically disastrous paths, like the USSR, Red China 1960s, Cambodia 1970s...

We better start educating our population on ideological history and the nature of the political extremes and their inevitable results.
