It is fascinating to me that cognitive dissonance washes over so much.

Wiki was cited with a quote. So I looked at the whole Wiki. One reads from two excerpts:

"Patrick Lancaster is an American vlogger, and influencer, widely known for his YouTube videos inadvertently revealing secret, and compromising Russian military information."
"Lancaster has been widely described as a pro-Kremlin propagandist, however he supported the 2023 Wagner armed uprising against the Russian Government."

An interesting bit of yes-no. This vlogger was revealing Russian military information, and supported Wagner against the Russian government, but still is according to another's opinion, "'illiterate, grifting charlatan, with a journalistic acumen and ability lower than a potted plant'," while pro-Kremlin.

For sheer curiosity, Graham Philips, whose opinion was highlighted, was quoted in the Vice article referenced, "harmless clown who runs around in a panic, like a rabbit in headlights spouting phrases in broken English."

Of Graham Wayne Phillips who also is cited via a Wiki, one finds: "Graham William Phillips (born 1979) is a British freelance journalist, documentary filmmaker and former YouTuber who is under UK Government sanctions for 'producing and publishing pro-Russian disinformation and propaganda about the Ukraine War'. The sanctions on Phillips are an asset freeze." And "Phillips was the first mono-British citizen to be added to the sanctions list, and remains the only mono-British national to be sanctioned by the UK."

Quite a cast of characters, in which Lancaster is attacked by pro-Russian and UK-sanctioned Phillips as both an "illiterate, grifting charlatan" and oddly a "harmless clown." who reveals Russian military information, was pro-Wagner and anti-Kremlin, and also somehow pro-Kremlin. So, yes and no, in marvelous conflicting manner. The Ukraine-Russian war between two non-NATO nations is certainly deforming information and the pressure "pick one of only two options" is mighty indeed.

When the war ends -- for all wars come to ends -- it will be most interesting to see how the Gordian knot of this one unwinds or is severed in twain.

What is sure is that this YouTube is either 1) truth or 2) falsehood, and 1) information or 2) disinformation, and 1) honest testimony or 2) a stage event, and so on.

Some of those who wish this YouTube episode be sullied, praise other YouTube videos, and one thing is certain. Google/YouTube gets their 45 percent of the AdSense revenues. From both sides. Because even cognitive dissonance is being made profitable in this time of what our predecessors had wisely foretold, "universal deceit."
