I can’t imagine how people do it with 500 dollars in savings. Heck, my HVAC was 8500. And the roof…..grrrr. It must be so difficult coming up with big purchases. I’d imagine day to day is ok with 500 bucks. But there is always some crazy expense with a house. Always unexpected as well or at least was hoping a few more years before replacement.

LOL, I remember my dad telling me when my husband and I bought our first house that it was going to be a “money pit” and expect it to be so. It is ALWAYS something, isn’t it?

Last week, my windshield was hit by a rock on the 110 freeway in LA. It didn’t come through the window, Thank God, but cracked it but good. New windshield was $800, after we called around, dealer wanted $3500 (deductible for insurance was $1000).

My dishwasher is about to give up the ghost and I’m sure I’m looking at $1,000 - it has been repaired beyond its usefulness. I just had the trees cut back on the property and that was thousands of dollars -who knows what next month will bring?

Businesses ask how you are going to pay before they install. When they asked me how I said by check, they just said, “Oh.” I think that they have deals with banks for time payments or loans.

Naps, I regret to say I'm in that pool of people with less than $500 in savings. Wasn't that way nearly 3 years ago, before my youngest granddaughter was born.

Forgive me for the anger that spills out, but her mother took the vax while pregnant. My dear little girl was born 14 weeks premature, weighing 17 ounces. Yes, I do blame the vax. My granddaughter is a fighter, she's been through so much...she's doing chemo now, to reduce the tumor on her liver, so they can remove it surgically.

Over the past 2 1/2 years, I have helped the family to the tune of $50K, but my largesse is coming to an end, out of necessity, not of choice.

Oh wait...I forgot about what I have left in my Charles Schwab account, current value of approximately $1500! LOL

It is all relative to expenses. A retiree renter in some areas only needs $600 to $1500 a month for an apt. and one can eat for less than $200 a month. And insofar as a Bible Christian obeys Matthew 6:31-33 than it can be much less for more, thanks be to God.
