According to Dawkins, who wrote “The Selfish Gene,” it’s a genetic imperative.
You were made to worship. period.
There is no purpose or meaning.
Embrace Camus and get on with it.
It would be more accurate to say, "None of us can remember asking to be born."
Given that God knew us BEFORE our birth (i.e., we pre-existed our birth), we cannot say whether or not we might have asked or agreed to be born.
See Jeremiah 1:5.
We are all on missions from God. Find out what your missions are and dedicate yourself to succeeding in them. If your goal in life is to attain happiness, then you will assuredly fail in that mission. Happiness really is a state of mind, when you realize that it is how you achieve it that is meaningful. If it is your goal, though, you are destined to fail. Happiness is the end result of a successful mission in life, whatever it is. Yesterday, I was happy that I had a good result to an MRI, and my mission has been extended another 3 months, until the next MRI. Praise God! My mission was not to attain the happiness of a good MRI, but to fight on for survival for another 3 months, so that I can extend my success to other folks. Enjoy today’s mission folks!

In recent months, I have spent a lot of time meditating on and praying about the meaning and the mystery of life.
