10-20% O2

On a ski trip to Vail, I made the mistake of heading for the top of the mountain which sits at approx. 11,000 ft. By lunch I was coming down with altitude sickness due to the lower oxygen level than I was used to.

Felt weak as heck at lunch, head was aching and could barely keep awake. Immediately headed down the mountain with another guy in our group to ski at a much lower level. Still had to quit early due to the fatigue factor.

I lived in bogota a while

It’d take me weeks to acclimate but it’s a great way to stay very trim

Id go from 200 to 175-180 and I’m 6-5

Eat all I wanted

We went skiing at 17.5 outside La Paz on a lark

Primitive place tow ropes

I got to top lit up Marlboro red and promptly fainted onto snow drift lol

I used to see kids vomit at top of pikes peak off school buses running around too much

I’ve watched videos of Chinese climbers on Everest at 25k sharing a cigarette in the tent

Now those are real hombres lol

The old wall climbers on Yosemite used to carry smokes both tobacco and otherwise plus beer

Crazy

I think the famous French glass climber Alain robert used to smoke on climbs

No rope at 800 feet clinging to window jams

He’s crazy

I had a life changing stent put in five years ago which opened up purple meat in the ventricle which was likely compromised from the womb from congenital cardiac issues

I take altitude ok

No running about but I can tolerate it

Did 13 plus in the San Juan’s two months ago

Usually drive to Santa Fe first at 7800 to acclimate overnight before heading into higher elevations
