Go to an airport, find a private aircraft and jot down a tail number at random...
When you get home enter the tail number into a search engine...you will likely see a detailed travel history, the owners name and address and a lot of other information.

Exactly, plus planes put out a radio beacon called ADS-B which anyone including myself can pick up and track, if you go to flightaware or flightradar24, both use ADS-B you can track planes just about anywhere in the world.
