Good catch. “Tiger 11”
Prayers.
Reports describe wet and snowy conditions in mountainous terrain. If crew and passenger compartment compromised (opened) by crash and Marines so injured as to be unable to communicate since touchdown that ain’t hopeful.
Do the military ever cancel non-critical flights into terrible weather just for safety?
See attached for updates on missing 3rd MAW Marines.

Most of the reports are talking snow hampering the rescue.
Well if they aren’t dead that kind of leaves they either can’t communicate or they don’t want to. I pray they aren’t dead.
Makes you wonder if the msm still pays anyone to provide the function of "editor".
Did it crash ? if not then wth ?
I backpacked the Pacific Crest Trail from US/MX border north on the local area footpath for five consecutive years, and in those mountains, USMC and USN rotary wing aircraft encounters were on an almost daily occurrence.
An AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter crashed in almost the exact same location as where the last known ping location for the CH 53 emitted. There’s a warning sign for hikers to stay on the trail as there is scattered munitions in the area that were never recovered.
Still no word on the condition of the helicopter. Was it a controlled landing, or a crash landing? If it was a controlled flight at cruise speed into terrain, there isn’t going to be a need to look for the aircrew. If there was a crash landing, wouldn’t there be injuries preventing some of the crew from setting out on a cross country hike to civilization?
The SAR Teams ought to have reached the ping site by now and should be reporting the facts on the ground as encountered.
Why no mention of communications from the crew? Who today, doesn’t carry a cell phone on their person, especially military aged personnel, and why no communication from the pilot or copilot using the aircraft’s avionics system?
Something does seem amiss in all of the reporting or lack of facts in the reporting.
“An average Jr high student from the 60’s would have written a better report than this one.”
You nailed it on that. So true across the media. Just the basic who, what, when, where, why and how are completely ignored.

At the time I posted this (1:25 pm EST) not a lot of information was available.
If you read through the posts, much more has been reported.
Me either. Reference declaring an emergency or mayday or anything.
Sucks.

If you click on the hyperlink tied to “atmospheric river storm” in the story, it takes you straight to an article about climate change.........freakin’ abc.
Bizzare cartoon, but the point they make is if the weather is poor, return to point of departure , Kilroy flies on through the storm to his demise.
The one thing gleaned from viewing at least 25 articles on the web about this missing helo. is that not a one of them has reported that the a/c has been physically found, even though most headlines in fact state that the missing helo. has been found.
The closest to finding the helo. so far, is having a ping described as the last known location of the helo. based on where the ping is thought to have originated.
The reporting media orgs. have had little to no facts to report on, and because of this, they have used misleading words to steer the readers to their sites, essentially turning a likely tragedy into clickbait.
In rereading my post, it is becoming clear to me that this helo. crashed and I fear that all onboard have perished.
The key clue is that there have not been any communications from any of the crew, at any time, since the last a/c ping/
No bueno.
100% pure bullshit surrounding the reporting on this helo.
EXCERPT:
Feb. 7 (UPI) — Rescuers found a military helicopter that had been missing since before dawn on Wednesday and the search continues for the five-member crew.

WTF?
And this...
EXCERPT:
Officials did not say what condition the helicopter was in when it was found.
freepersup:
So, five crew members are wandering around the mountains east of San Diego, for the past 18 hours, and none of them have a means to contact help?
