Since shows are recorded previously, is it possible they are playing two digital tracks, namely the video, and the audio in an unsynched manner? Were the non performing on screen personalities also looking as if they were lip syncing?

There’s talent in the guest performers but I can’t stand the presenters. Obviously, though, millions like the show.

Having been in the music business all my life the move to digital conversion was not very friendly to audio at all. Far too much over-engineering and too many variables that can cause unnecessary latency. Much of it is caused by different transmission formats. Cable, Air, Satellite, Etc. Even right at the microphone certain frequencies can cause latency when other frequencies do not. Digital actually sucks for the music industry, but everyone has adopted it and there is no going back now.
