“ Unfortunately, this is costing both sides a lot of people.”

I look at this like the Iran-Iraq war back in the 80s.

I want both sides to lose.

Why do you want Ukraine to lose?

Is it because of the Ukrainian nuclear arsenal, with which Ukraine politicians are constantly threatening America's heartland? Oh, that's right: Russia is the one doing that! In contrast, Ukraine (then technically the third-largest nuclear power in the world) surrendered all of their Soviet-era nukes in exchange for assurances from the U.S. (and the U.K.) and Russia in the framework of the Budapest Memorandum that their territorial sovereignty would be respected.

Is it because Ukraine, since winning its independence in the wake of the dissolution of the U.S.S.R., has been invading neighboring countries and breaking the post-WWII peace order in Europe. Oh, that's right: Russia is the one doing that. Since re-achieving independence in 1991, Ukraine has never violated an international border, claimed foreign territory, threatened to annex foreign territory, etc.

Item: Ukraine has done nothing to ever warrant any patriotic American wishing it ill - certainly not that an aggressive foreign power should invade it, kills tens of thousands of civilians, etc.

Regards,

Both sides are losing. There really are no winners here. Not for the soldiers on the ground, not for civilians, not for the animals even.
