Newsom isn't clear on what he is saying. I added what he was TRYING to say.
Governor Newsom was in a target store. He witnessed shop lifting that the clerk seen the crime as well.
Newsom asked the Clerk, why isn't anyone stopping him from stealing that?
The Clerk didn't recognize the Governor said, "because the Governor lowered the threshold."
Newsom argued with the Clerk, "We have the 10th Toughest" (state laws in the country on shop lifting. Being $950 or less that has no prosecution. which is less then what was stolen)
Technically Newsom was partly correct there are other states that has a higher threshold though the items stolen is still less then $950
He was wondering why he had to buy his $380 worth of items and all of the dems he was talking to laughed as though they might steal what they want next time.
