So were you one of those hang gliders I used to see around Mt. Si and also Lake Chelan?
No. The closest that I have flown to Mt. Si was at Tiger Mountain a few miles down the road in Issaquah in a paraglider. Both of those sites are better suited for paragliders. I have done that at Tiger a couple of times.
But speaking of airsickness, paragliders make me airsick. Instead of soaring prone and swooping like a bird... in a paraglider you are always swiveling your body back and forth to use your legs like rudders to supplement your control lines and make your turns tighter. So you are swinging back and forth while you are going up and down and making steep turns. I t just doesn’t work very well for me which is why I never purchased one of my own even though your chance of breaking a limb are somewhat less.
My friends and I went to Dog Mountain near Morton the most. But I have been to sites all around Western Washington, Oregon and down to California. But strangely enough I never have flown at Lake Chelan.
What type of aerobatic training did you take in the Citabria? I have never flown one, but I have time in Aeronca Champs and Chiefs. We belonged to an ultralight club which evolved into an experimental club, which eventually evolved into a vintage aircraft club.
Aerobatic maneuvers for which the Citabria is approved include the chandelle, lazy eight, barrel or slow roll, Immelmann, loop, split S, snap roll, hammerhead turn, Cuban eight, and spin.
Didn't do the hammerhead turn and I don't think the snap roll. This was in 80s.
Helen Thomas yeah—maybe if you’re on a bad dose of LSD. But don’t give your addictions away. She is do-able. Anyway, when you’re pushin’ eighty, ALL the young’ns are cute.

Pushed passed 80. She’s still uglier than a rotting slug. Have at it.
