I’m waiting for some former ballplayers to show up at his rallies. Doesn’t have to be just from his Dodger days or the Padres.

Garvey is a sports legend in California.

Like Herschel Walker is in Georgia.

If Garvey does have a chance, what makes you think they won’t steal it?

It feels like Garvey doesn’t have a “Chinaman’s chance”, so to speak.

For most voters younger than 40, Steve Garvey is probably a complete unknown. All they will know for sure is that he is a Republican.

The deck is stacked, no doubt. My point being he has a far better chance than any other GOP, none of whose names I even know

In 1980, the San Fernando Valley was still 75% White.

By 1991, it was down to 58%. “Latinos” were moving in en masse because of chain immigration created by the 1986 amnesty, and of course increasing illegal immigration.

That was 30 years ago. “Hispanics” as they are now called are at about 70% of the valley, White people (um, the “Americans”) are now about 20% and falling.

The proportions have reversed, for the first time in history. The Val Girls are gone! Can probably see a few of them in rest homes out in Coachella.

Reagan’s America doesn’t exist in California. Garvey is a relic, and the 19% he’s carrying merely tells you how many White people are still voting.

He cannot win in Kalifornia.

****************

True, but if IIRC the last California Senate election was democrat vs democrat in the general election.

Getting a Republican into the general looks like an improvement.

Being a long time LA boy, if I still lived in California I’d vote for Garvy.
