It’s Latin conjugation. Alumni includes masculine and feminine plural. Alumnus would be singular masculine. Alumna would be singular feminine. Alumnae would be plural feminine. The Spanish language also has masculine and feminine conjugation, should that language also be changed?

Is the point of this to come up with a word that includes the small number of people who don’t identify with male or female? Or is the point to take control of language in order to control the people?
