Russia will seize the property of anyone who speaks out against Putin's invasion of Ukraine under proposals for brutal new Soviet-style crackdown

Russia's parliament is considering new legislation which would give the state the power to seize the property of people convicted for defamation of the armed forces or for calling publicly for actions that undermine state security.

-snip-

The move has drawn comparisons with the witch hunts of the 1930s under Soviet dictator Josef Stalin with their 'enemy of the state' rhetoric, and could affect thousands of Russians who have spoken out against Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

The speaker of the State Duma lower house of parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, has dubbed the new bill 'the scoundrel law'.

'Everyone who tries to destroy Russia, betrays it, must be published accordingly and repay the damage to the country in the form of their property,' he said at the weekend while announcing the submission of the bill.

Rightly or wrongly, the govt was of Ukraine was legitimately elected.

No, it wasn't in 2014. The democratically elected President was overthrown. Donetsk and Lugansk, justifiably, declared independence, and hadn't voted since.

The regions that voted for Yanukovych in 2014 had every right to leave Ukraine and joined the Russian Federation. And, that's what they did.

It’s real, I know them, have visited there many times, and I am telling you the truth. But maybe you are immune to truth.

The greater point here was making the Russians pay, literally and figuratively, for their invasion.

So, you don't care how many Ukrainians are dying or how much more of the country they lose? You don't care that conscripts are rounded up against their will and sent to the frontlines to certain death?

All the matters is hurting Russia no matter how much taxpayer money is wasted and no matter the damage done to this country's reputation because we, justifiably, are seen as the world's bully. Never mind, that we're closer to a hot war with Russia, WW III or nuclear war than we were during the Cold War.

EVERYTHING that has happened in Ukraine is a result of our meddling in the country. We fomented the illegal coup in 2014. We installed a puppet government. We trained and funded a 600,000 man Ukrainian army. We gave Ukraine lethal weapons. We teased NATO membership for Ukraine. We were running biolabs with deadly pathogens in them.

If Russia or China had done any of that in Mexico, we, justifiably, would have invaded.

It's globalists and neocon politicians that did everything they could to make this war happen that need to pay and removed from power.

If that were true, then all they would have to do is lay down their arms and let Russia take over and they would be happy. Obviously, that is not true. They are valiantly fighting an enemy country that they know to be a threat to them, and that enemy country is not to be trusted. But then again you already know that, Ivan.

Putin’s war is very popular at home with almost 100% support.

The few that don’t support the war are a few homeless bums. (sarcasm)

Why don’t you go back and check the broken promises since the “not one inch” scam. The Russians AND Ukes, negotiating in good faith, hammered out an agreement in March of ‘22. The agreement meant peace not the DC Globohomo/neocon proxy war as a way to bring about “forced regime change in Moscow”. The MIC warmongers in DC quashed the initialed agreement. The Russians aren’t stupid. I kinda think you might be. The Uniparty masters in DC lie to you about EVERYTHING but the gospel they speak about Ukraine. Name me one, just one thing, other than Uke info from on high, that the globohomos running this crap show don’t lie to you about.

Ukraine is under martial law as it is invaded.

Russia isn’t being invaded or under threat of such a thing.

Rightly or wrongly, the govt was of Ukraine was legitimately elected.

Once you get over your opinion, there is only one way to think about this.

.

The US instigated a "color revolution" to dispose of a democratically elected president (Viktor Yanukovych) Just ask Victoria ((cookie) Nuland if that ain't so. There are even audio and transcripts available of her plotting online.

"Yanukovych ran for President again in the 2010 election, this time beating Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in an election that was judged free and fair by international observers. A member of the pro-Russian Party of Regions, his removal from the presidency via revolution in 2014 led to the Russo-Ukrainian War.[5][6] - Wiki

State Department Victoria Nuland cheer leading the "Revolution" in 2014.

Do you think I am immune to common sense. The reason they have fought to a stand still or better is because they believe in themselves and Russia does not. They are far more competent than Russia is and the are a lot more motivated. If what you said was true than they would not be so motivated that is obvious, Ivan.

The Russians are very stupid and vicious and predatory which is how they got into this mess. Even the “globohomos neocon proxy war” people if they are what you say they are are better than Putin and friends. They may lie about everything else but, Russians are the bigger liars and they are evil and you are stupider than they are to believe them.

He was the guy who was president when Ukraine was more corrupt than Russia which started becoming the reverse after he left.

Ukraine moved up in improving the ratings while Russia moved down worse in corruption ratings and in human trafficking.

Where did he retire to?
