Argentina’s new president had been asked to speak at the World Economic Forum (WEF) as, if not exactly a comic turn, at least a warning to that most self-regarding of conferences that voters can make terrible choices.

The former economics professor made no attempt to meet his audience half way. On the contrary, he began by warning that Western values had been betrayed by “those who want to belong to a privileged caste”.

I hope Milei is successful. Argentina used to be one of the wealthier countries up to the early 20th century. Maybe the 100 year legacy of Peronistas can get broken.

My only recommendation to Milei is that if Victoria Nuland shows up, throw her in prison.

I’m shocked they invited Milei to speak. They had to know what he was going to say. So, what was the intent of WEF in letting him excoriate them?

My best guess at this point is that they will now be able to say that the WEF is “fair and balanced” (!), while in reality completely ignoring his viewpoints, and just plow ahead with their satanic agenda.

I think they were hoping to ply him with whores and caviar to see if he would be willing to put aside all that freedom “nonsense” and join the club. Next steps: blackmail, targeted attacks on the Argentine economy and, if all else fails, assassination. There must be no backsliding on global authoritarianism.
