An OBGYN friend of mine specialized in difficult complicated pregnancies. She said that her efforts are to save babies, and mothers, and in good conscience, she could not also kill babies.

She refused, and it negatively impacted her career.

As someone who has had four children I can say that the moment you get that positive pregnancy test you are picturing that baby in your mind in a thousand different ways - rocking it, playing with it, dressing it, etc. It is a BABY. Nobody gets that positive test and envisions cells and amniotic fluid.

Whatever one's difficult circumstances, whatever the age of the fetus, whatever anything ... when you are pregnant you are already a mother and when you have an abortion you are still a mother ... but of a baby whose death you authorized.

Them's the facts. And I will never understand the mindset of women who would prefer to kill their baby than give it away to a couple who wants it.
