The ridiculousness was not as puerile and over stretched in most of the original series and the original series was written for ALL ages, with the very subtle references to great lit and history a LOT of fun to try to spot/figure out!

The new series had/has NONE of that and sol, was NEVER as good and just kept on getting worse and worse and then GOD AWFUL! I gave up on it with the last male Doctor and haven't watched it since.

Nope...do NOT play games with the sex of the Doctor, nor the prescribed number of regenerations!

If we're being canonical, it is possible to get more than twelve regenerations. In the 1983 special The Five Doctors, the Time Lord high council offered the Master a completely new set of regenerations in exchange for renouncing his wicked ways and helping the Doctor, who was trapped in the Death Zone.

The Time Lords didn't do that for the Master, but they did do it for the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) in his final story. So the Doctor has thirteen new lives.

I don't care what happens anymore with this show. Disney and Russell T. Davies have ruined it forever.
