Your bank robbery analogy is an interesting one. However, 99% of the public would agree on just what a bank robbery is. Unfortunately, that is not the case when it comes to the definition of “natural born”.
For good or for bad, when things get murky the courts rely on precedence. And a precedence has been set. The voters thought Obama was eligible. And so we got a president whose first allegiance was certainly not to the United States.
I’m not happy with this. The Founders wisely tried to minimize foreign influence when selecting a President. Yet here we are. And I don’t see it changing.
Well why wouldn't they? Not a single state official demanded to see any proof he was born here, so the public just thought he was fine.
Had every state demanded proof he was born here before allowing him on the ballot, the public might have had a very different view on the topic.
You gotta understand how they manipulate the public into believing things, whether they are true or not.
