Kazakhstan’s egg help to Russia causes grumbling

Kazakhstan has agreed to help Russia alleviate its chronic shortage of chicken eggs only to spark grumbling from domestic consumers in border areas who now say there is not enough for them to buy.

The pledge of assistance arrived at a meeting on trade issues between Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin and his Russian counterpart, Alexei Overchuk, in Astana on January 17.

Eggs featured on the agenda. As the Russian state statistics service has reported, the price of the commodity soared by more than 61 percent last year, prompting the government in Moscow to adopt some radical fixes. One was a plan to exempt 1.2 billion eggs from customs duties in the first half of this year.

But first Russia needs to find somebody to supply the eggs. At the Astana meeting, Overchuk asked for Kazakhstan’s help, and he received a positive response.

Zhumangarin instructed the Agriculture Ministry to increase the supply of eggs to Russia as soon as possible.

“In matters of food security, flexibility in decision-making is necessary,” he said.

But this gesture of goodwill is not going down well in Kazakhstan, which has struggled for years to cope with its own inflation woes.

On January 18, residents in the northwestern city of Uralsk told journalists that they have seen a quota imposed on the number of eggs being sold at state-run stores, where goods are traded at subsidized prices. The limit is 10 per person.

So, when egg prices here went up to 4 bucks a dozen, I quit buying eggs and I survived. Wasn’t long after that that eggs prices crashed and went down to less than 6 dollars for a 5 dozen case at Walmart! See how that works?

The point is Russia is a third world craphole that expects their pensioners to live on $8 a day.

Russia has come a long ways in the last 20 years or so after their complete collapse. Millions died after losing their homes, murdered for their home schemes with the help of corrupt law enforcement, obligaurds pilfering everything. The best thing that ever happened to them was getting out of the thumb or the United States. Sounds like he is close to surrendering.

Anyways, if Russia is so 3rd world why is it that the Russians can out produce all western countries, combined? Even you hero realizes that now.

Ukraine Seeks PR "Wins" as West Admits War May be Lost

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for January 21, 2024…

- As Ukraine and its Western sponsors continue losing the conflict strategically, Ukraine continues conducting military operations to win public relations victories;

- Ukrainian drone strikes on St. Petersburg and a Russian oil depot inflicted no tactically or strategically significant damage;

- Such strikes have demonstratably only galvanized the Russian population further behind Moscow and are admittedly aimed at encouraging the Ukrainian population to remain invested in the conflict;

- The US government has claimed that without further financial aid, Ukraine will decisively lose the conflict, omitting the fact that even with additional financial resources, the arms and ammunition Ukraine needs does not exist to be purchased and transferred to Ukraine in the first place;

- France has urged arms manufacturers to boost output, claiming to have switched to a “war economy mode,” despite the necessary prerequisites to do so not being met and France being unable to boost output without huge investments in both money measured in billions, and time measured in years;

- The fate of a Russian A-50 airborne early warning and control aircraft continues to remain at the center of Western commentary, specifically because of a lack of strategically significant developments in Ukraine’s favor on the battlefield. The fact that Western media admits the allegedly destroyed plane has already been replaced reveals how insignificant the incident is;

- The Western media continues promoting narratives of heavy Russian losses around Avdeevka, identical to narratives that preceded the fall of Bakhmut to Russian forces last year;

- While such narratives are meant to depict Russia as weak and failing, the relentless tidal wave of men and equipment would not be possible unless Russia possessed vastly superior means of raising manpower and military industrial output;
