The trek kicks off March 21 in Bowling Green, Kentucky and winds its way across the country. The run is currently scheduled to end Sept. 14 in Kansas City, Missouri, however a press release noted that further dates will be announced later.
“‘All The Good Times’ perfectly describes our career,” said the band via statement. “Playing our music for Dirt Band fans all over the world has been an incredible experience for us. The most important part of that has been the connection to our audience—that beautiful communal give and take is like nothing else. That's the very spirit we'll be celebrating as we head into our farewell tour. We’re really looking forward to seeing you folks. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Has Toured for Nearly 60 Years
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band originally formed in 1966 and quickly spawned a following. Blending country and folk rock, the group -- led by singer-guitarist Jeff Hanna -- scored hits in the '60s and early '70s with such classic tunes as "Mr. Bojangles," "Buy for Me the Rain" and "Jambalaya (On the Bayou)."
In the '80s, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band lent heavier into its country elements to great success. Between 1983 and 1989, the group landed an impressive 16 singles in the Top 10 of Billboard's country chart.
Across nearly 60 years, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's lineup has seen constant turnover (including briefly featuring Jackson Browne). Hanna and drummer Jimmy Fadden are the only members to stay in the group throughout its entire existence.

I saw them at a very small venue in the 90s… They were freaking amazing. I’m not a stalker fan but it was a great show
Strange there are no Colorado dates, it was home base. They were good guys, when a band I in was heading out on tour way ‘back in the day’ they sent us each a gift and wished us good luck. One of our guys had played with them. But most of that crew was out of the lineup long ago.
Fishing in the Dark was their best song. Surprised that it wasn’t mentioned.

Saw them live at Hoch Auditorium on the KU campus in ‘73. It was supposed to be an hour and a half show. They performed for three hours and TORE IT DOWN. Possibly the best live act I have seen in sixty years.
I especially enjoyed the “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” LP albums. That was my intro to Vassar Clements’ fiddle music!
Saw them once waaaay back in the day. Still have Will The Circle in my playlist.

I knew a man Joe Bangles, and he danced for you, in worn out Air Jordans.
I have that album on vinyl, cassette, CD, and MP3. Still listen to it fairly often. Those were some amazing musicians, not only Vassar Clements.
I saw the full NGDB late Fall 2019 at a John Prine music festival on the beach in the Domincan Republic. They were awesome. Jeff Hannah doesn’t age.
I saw Jeff, his son, and a couple other guys at City Winery in Atlanta. This a year or two ago. We were like 10’ from Jeff. My wife got his pick and the set list. See my comment on Jeff above. Good show.

For decades “Buy For Me The Rain” was one of my very favorite songs.But now that I’m fairly (very?) close to the grave I find it painful to hear it.
Awesome, they were known for great shows during their heyday.
“House At Pooh Corner” is one of my favorite songs ever. I think I’ll pull up the YouTube and listen to it.
They were one of the first western bands to perform in the soviet union. The fans were stone faced scared of the guards. When they saw the guards loosening up and enjoying the show, the atmosphere changed. 1977.
Another great song.I had completely forgotten about it.
