This story is a perfect example of the stupidity, childishness, and fake news of the Internet.
Due to this story, major papers are publishing stories asking if the radiation dome in the Bikini atoll, 200 miles away from the Kwajalein atoll, is leaking, while posting pictures of that dome as though it were on Kwaj.
No one can read the NOTAM nor understand it. It clearly states that for two days the NOTAM is in effect, not a continuous forever and ever NOTAM.
Then there are the nerds who have to say something like “Castle Bravo” somewhere in their post to act like they are technically savvy and in-the-know. Of course, the Castle Bravo shot was in the Bikini Atoll and not on Kwaj, but these nerds just want the attention.
Then there are the other nerds who do the same thing and claim the USAF Space Fence is the cause, not knowing what the space fence is. These nerds have no connection to aerospace at all, or ever, but want to seem in-the-know too.
Then there is the “I was there” crowd, who obviously had no clue what was going on and were not part of the technical operations on Kwaj, so they, too, make stupid and ignorant statements.
People are simply attention seeking morons and propagate false information all in the name of seeking attention for themselves.
not me!!!
Time to clear my vocal cords, me, me, me. Take no notice. me, me, me.

I guess they inoculate you against politeness when they let you be “in the know”.
Well said.

Good post. Agreed. I admit I don’t remember exactly where the dome(s) are.
