Those delicious dough balls (usually in syrup with rose water) are called gulab jamun. (In case anyone cares).

I care. Thank you. When I took my mother to an Indian restaurant, she loved those particularly. When I went to the bathroom and came back, it turns out she drank the syrup straight from the bowl when I was out of the room. My daughter told on her.

They’re a little too sweet for me, but when I mix them with kheer (the rice pudding), it’s the perfect combo.
