“I thought, well, when a person does that, they get a patent,” AI is just a tool or a machine. We have no idea the processes that great creators of industry used to create their cool inventions, unless they wrote a book to tell us.
The legal and money question here is who gets to file the patent, the content creator using supportive software or the programs creator.
It's bit like Microsoft claiming credit because a user used MS Word to write a great novel.
