I’ve seen aluminum foil used in the micro, but you gotta follow the rules. And like your metal rack, notice it’s not touching the sides. Very important!

You're correct. You absolutely can put metal in a working microwave oven if it's the right type of metal.

I had a microwave/convection oven. It was all metal on the inside.
