Hubby takes Elliquis since blood clots in his lungs about 5 years ago. The price dropped this month for a 3 month supply from $400+ to $100+. Have any idea why?

I have no idea why the drop. It could be insurance related... in that the out of pocket limit was reached. It could be related to whenever it goes off patent, and gets generic companies making it?

I would ask the pharmacist. But, then I wouldn’t take it after the research I did on it, because of my circumstances at 80 years of age, family situation, and side effects.

I will take the generic plavix, but am at the point in life where I will let God decide when to take me home to Him. My adult children aren’t in a position/willing to take care of me, and I cant afford assisted living. Cant saddle them with the cost, etc.

There comes a time...

Bristol Myers raised the price on eliquis by 15% last year. Price without help from a medical plan is now almost $600 for a 30 day supply.

Suspect you are on medi-care drug supplemental plan and the co-pay went down in Jan?

My co-pay was about $400 after I used up the $4000 annual limit in July, before reaching that limit it was $135 for 90 days. Reached limit faster last year because of the price increase.

There is a generic version available from India and that is where I buy it after the price goes up.
