Until a few years ago, I had a store in Long Beach - just a few miles from Compton. One day a group of 'gang banger' types came in - with security officers discretely behind them.

One of them was looking at a glass case filled with miniature buildings, - some of them well-known - St. Paul's Cathedral; The White House etc. I asked him if he recognized any. He replied "You got The Compton Courthouse in there? " How sad.....

Maybe your old store was near Jordan High School on Atlantic Blvd...Near 91 and 710 Freeways...The area around that school is not great...

I once reported to the Compton Courthouse for a jury duty...I think it was during last week of the year...I sat in the waiting room for some hours...Then the staff member told everyone to go home...I finished my jury service...
