And the pharisees were perfect at law keeping.
And your point is?
Jesus set the bar far higher than simply law keeping and observing times and seasons and dietary restrictions.
So go ahead, and put yourself under the bondage of law keeping if you want, thinking that it is a way to please God.
Those of us in Christ who have died to the Law are free from such bondage and free to walk in the Spirit.
Some relevant Scripture about law keeping.....

And there are many more.
Those rules make perfect sense for when sanitation was very difficult, pigs ate whatever they could find, and the understanding of germs and bacteria was 3000-4000 years in the future.
My grandparents cooked all meat well done. They did not know why, but that is what they were taught. They were all born at the turn of the 20th century, when food storage was spotty at best. They lived in the country, so ice came from the pond and was not used for drinking. They ate very basic foods, but if you wanted seconds or thirds it was available. If you wanted a snack, it was either an apple of pecans that you had to get out of the shell.
Two grandparents lived into their mid 80s and two lived into their early 90s. None of the four were overweight.
Are you under the old covenant? Good luck with that.
Are you under the New Covenant? Do you know what the New Covenant is?
Same God, different agreement. And thankfully the covenant changed.
Again read and understand the WHOLE Bible for full flavor. Reconcile your position with the words of Jesus I gave you.
He doesn’t want your tithes, offering, self righteousness. WHAT DOES HE WANT?
Address the issues I presented. Is God a liar.
You are welcome to your fallible interpretation and rationalization of Scripture.
Jer_31:31 “The day is coming,” says the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah.
Jer_31:33 “But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,” says the LORD. “I will put My instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people.
1Co_11:25 In the same way, He took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and His people—an agreement confirmed with My blood. Do this to remember Me as often as you drink it.”
2Co_3:6 He has enabled us to be ministers of His new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life.
Heb_8:8 But when God found fault with the people, He said: “The day is coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah.
Heb_8:10 But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people.
Heb_8:13 When God speaks of a “new” covenant, it means He has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and will soon disappear.
Heb_9:15 That is why He is the One who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.
Heb_10:16 “This is the new covenant I will make with My people on that day, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
Heb_12:24 You have come to Jesus, the One who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.
The New Covenant is a personal relationship with God, not an institution one, focusing on rules and regulations. You MUST be born again, does God’s Spirit live in you? Do you crave ALL of His Word?
Should YOU choose to HONOR God by what you eat, that is fine. But focus on the HONOR, not the rules and not
enslaving others with your ideas.
My viewpoint is not based on nutrition or hygiene but on the Bible.
He wants obedience and submission. You want bacon. God laid down a very simple test in the Garden of Eden but mans desires overcame him and he/she rationalized their decision. The fruit looked good (bacon smells good) and they ate (and you eat) in spite of Gods known will. Our body is supposed to be a Temple of God and yet you wish to pollute it.
Was the apple in the Garden poisonous? No. It was a test. Jesus fasted for forty days/nights and was tested again with appetite by Satan. He passed with an "It is written . . ". If Jesus is your Example, why not put down the bacon and take up the Cross? Jesus did not eat pork. There is no pork to be eaten in Heaven. Curb your desires and follow His.
He wants obedience and submission. You want bacon.
You deeds and money and obedience are worthless. That you point to them says much.
You CAN’T GET TO HEAVEN WITH YOUR OBEDIENCE AND SUBMISSION!
Mat 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
Mat 7:23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
The most amazing part of the above to me is that they argue with Jesus, they present their works.
What is the proper response?
The most scary words in the universe have to be: “Go away, I never knew you.”
It is NOT that we know God, it is that GOD KNOWS US. A right heart is how God knows us, not obedience to rules and regulations which you can’t follow 100% King David had a right heart with God.
Jesus, says the Pharisees are more righteous than you. What chance to you have?
I have since moved and am in the process of educating the local small-town govt.
I have given the link to a young warrior in the city to show to his leadership. I will be speaking to the new mayor and ask to speak to the council.
Folks, get active, DO SOMETHING.
He had a relationship with His creation. They talked in the evening on walks. Their disobedience separated that relationship. Go back and read the whole Bible. You want a relationship on YOUR terms not His. That won't do. You're not alone.
Matthew 7:21, 23 22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? ' 23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.
These are people who thought they had a relationship with God. They are shocked to learn they didn't make the grade. As will many, many. The term "lawlessness" sort of gives away what the problem was. They wanted to blend in this world AND have the next with God. God wants none of that. Jesus didn't come to abolish the Law (as many of the relationship people believe) but He establishes the Law. He lived it. He is the Example. Follow the Example.
Tell that to Adam and Eve.
They are shocked to learn they didn’t make the grade.
DO YOU MAKE THE GRADE?
DO YOU KEEP EVERY RULE AND REGULATION?
The pharisees are more righteous than you!
“A right heart is how God knows us, not obedience to rules and regulations which you can’t follow 100%””
Tell that to Adam and Eve.
Just a simple yes or no.
You're really hung up on that, aren't you? Of course not, don't conflate the issue. The Law does not save, it points out sin. We are to make our best effort and pray for strength to not sin. Jesus prayed constantly on earth for this same thing, that He may remain sinless and please His Father. He is our Example.
So you really want to know do works get us into Heaven? No, they do not. But bad works can get us excluded. The sacrifice of Jesus is to cover our misguided unintentional or accidental sins. His Blood does not cover blatant intentional selfish sins that we choose. These are sins the world uses to entice us and certain Church leaders tells us it's okay, they are minor sins and don't count. Eating a fruit in the Garden seems minor but its result was devastating.
Do you keep ALL of Gods rules and regulations ALL of the time. Are you going to claim that when you meet Jesus?
Just a simple yes or no.
The mistake the Pharisee made was comparing himself to another. It's called moral relativism. You are attempting the same thing. You are to compare yourself to Jesus life and Example and not compare yourself to others. So, no. I will not indulge you. I will not give you an excuse. I am not the Example. Jesus is and your focus should be on Him and not the things, foods, deeds of others.
But bad works can get us excluded.
It is YOU that started this and focused on bacon and continue to do so.
God wants our hearts. If he has our hearts, he has everything. He wants a deep and abiding relationship with us that HE leads. It doesn’t matter what we eat, when we pray, where we pray, etc.
I don’t want my wife’s obedience. I want her heart, then I have everything. And she should have my heart.
You don’t want your children’s obedience; you want their hearts.
Your emphasis on rules and regulations do damage to the kingdom, just like the pharisees did.
Seek the HIGHER TRUTH, what is behind the rule and obedience. Seek God’s heart, not the rules and obedience. Teach this to others.
You interpret God’s will as rules and obedience. God’s will is an abiding heart, in which there is freedom but also responsibility/response to God.
God wants a broken heart.
The mistake the Pharisee made was comparing himself to another. It’s called moral relativism.
Focus on what Jesus said on the matter.
What did He say?
“Do you keep ALL of Gods rules and regulations ALL of the time. Can you answer the question?”
But you dance around it pretty good.
