Texas is unusual but not unique in its appreciation of the use of armed force against robbers. That said, this case is at the perimeter of what is legally acceptable due to the connotation of vigilante justice. The exoneration of the citizen who shot and killed the robber may reflect a change in public mood toward favoring the use of lethal force against robbers.

The outstanding thing is that the hero shooter was just going about his everyday business,
got hungry and stopped to have a couple tacos in a local restaurant......and he was carrying.

Excellent! I really thought the GJ would indict him due to the last shot ...what some called a coupe de grace. Hope the shooter shoots the parent(note not plural) for the cost of bullets and emotional trauma.

As a juror, I will not convict anyone of any crime for "taking out the trash".

The cops have abdicated their jobs; we're on our own. We the People must protect each other on the street and in the courtroom.
