Back in the day I liked him. He had one schtick which he created and executed well. But he wasn’t even on the same planet as Belushi or Aykroyd. Aykroyd was the real talent.
It was much later when I learned just how much of a jerk Chevy Chase was.
Perfect.
On the other hand, I gotta be a little jealous of anyone who spent that much time with Beverly D’Angelo... just wow.
He made fun of Gerald Ford for his alleged clumsiness. And yet nobody on SNL before or now would even go after Obama or Biden.
I see what you did there
Now that’s funny (and true).
This just in: Chevy Chase’s career is still dead.
GREAT LINE, LOL!
The wife and I had lunch at Murray’s restaurant near Chicago a couple years ago. GREAT Chicago style hot dogs, and Caddyshack merchandise galore.
Out of the top 25 Weekend Update jokes, one was delivered by Chevy Chase and 24 were delivered by Norm MacDonald.
“A greatly under rated film of his is “The Razor’s Edge”.”
I really like that one.
“He made fun of Gerald Ford for his alleged clumsiness.”
Yeah those skits falling down had a lot to do with his Chevy’s success. He did some great intros for SNL.
Back then the political digs were more tame. They had some fun with Carter after the 3 mile island deal.
