Why not just ban the sport outright? That’s the only thing missing from this Kamala Harris word salad . . .

Additional thoughts:

- Dump the portal - if you want to transfer, you sit a year as before. Exceptions can be made for particular, well-defined hardships, but teams of hijacked mercenaries are the future of college ball, and that ain’t good

-Require geographic limits for ALL conferences - the areas defined as limits can be greater in the west than the northeast, but conference games like USC vs Rutgers are just a joke.

-And most radically of all, give players an option: free tuition, room and board, basic living expenses, and an actual education OR NIL money, that they can use to pay for their education, etc, (meaning they’d have to qualify for admission to the school they’re in), but they wouldn’t have to go to class at all if they had no interest in an education - they’d just be minor league football (or basketball) players, suiting up in a particular set of school colors. A sizable fraction of the best players (certainly not all) have no interest in classes at all - why perpetuate the hypocrisy? There are kids who’ll know the value of a half-million dollars worth of schooling (if they pick the right school and a legitimate major) - if they can get that by playing ball, more power to them.
