they also find that black mat layer in the ruins of an ancient city north of galilee identified as sodom dating to about 1800 bc. the city was subsequently uninhabited for about 600 years.

the suggestion is that sodom was hit by a smaller asteroid. so the damage was more local

Incredibly, all these cataclysmic events do not destroy the earth. What are the odds? Especially if this is all by random chance, right?

Large meteorites and Volcanic eruptions are rare but seem to have great significance. Something exciting to read about but probably terrifying to live through.

My resources say the transition was rather immediate and void of any celestial influence.
